From August 20 to 22, 2021, the 11th Cross-strait Academic Conference on Graph Theory and Combinatorial Mathematics, sponsored by the Chinese Mathematical Society and hosted by the School of Mathematics, Shandong University, was successfully held online.
In order to promote the development of cross-strait research in combinatorial mathematics, graph theory and related fields and strengthen academic exchanges between cross-strait scholars, since 2001, the Cross-strait Academic Conference on Graph Theory and Combinatorial Mathematics has been held in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan in turn every two years. The conference aims at gathering cross-strait Chinese scholars in graph theory, combinatorics and related research fields to exchange recent research results. So far, the conference has been successfully held for 10 times.
This conference is adhering to the concept of "internationalization, innovation and openness", bringing scholars from all over the world together online, attracting nearly 600 scholars from Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, Hongkong, the United States and France. Six plenary lectures, 23 invited lectures and 130 panel lectures are arranged for the conference. "Problem session" is specially added. Through this, scholars share their interesting conjectures and problems and discuss them to collide with thinking sparks.
The opening ceremony of the conference is presided over by Professor Wang Guanghui, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mathematics, Shandong University. Professor Ge Gennian from Capital Normal University (also the Director of the Professional Committee on Combinatorial Mathematics and Graph Theory of Chinese Mathematical Society) and Professor Fu Henglin from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University deliver opening speeches respectively. Professor Zhu Xuding from Zhejiang Normal University, Professor Ye Yongnan from Academia Sinica, Professor Liu Defen from University of California-Los Angeles, Professor Wang Kaishun from Beijing Normal University, Professor Ji Qing from Tianjin University and Professor Wu Hehui from Fudan University make plenary lectures respectively. The panel lectures are about extremal graph theory, algebraic graph theory, structural graph theory, atlas, extremal combinatorics and combinatorial enumeration. The closing ceremony of the conference is presided over by Professor Wu Jianliang from the School of Mathematics, Shandong University. The Professor Xu Baogang from Nanjing Normal University deliveries a closing speech to extend heartfelt thanks and sincere wishes to all members participating in the conference.
The successful holding of this conference promotes the academic exchanges between cross-strait scholars in graph theory, combinatorial mathematics and related research fields, and plays a positive role in promoting the development of graph theory and combinatorial mathematics.
